BSF was raised on 1st Dec 1965. BSF has seen 1971 war with Pakistan and has given shoulder to shoulder fight to Pakistan with Indian Army. BSF is deployed in Indo-Pak and Indo-Bangladesh border. The nature of job of BSF is to guard our border with Pakistan and Bangladesh.

We share our border with Bangladesh in Malda Frontier. BSF is deployed in International border. While performing their duties many BSF personnel has sacrificed their life for the nation. BSF has apprehended many Bangladeshi nationals while they were trying to cross the border. There have been taken many attempts to cross the border from India to Bangladesh and vice versa. But by the active duty of BSF personnel they were always apprehended. By performing their duties bravely and actively BSF personnel have got many awards.

BSF personnel have also seized fake currecy, cattles, drugs, weapons/ammunition and other goods items.
